● Music
We at MEL Productions have a longstanding experience with working with young people and adults from a wide range of learning needs. Whilst addressing the wider socially economic visions in context with the demands for bringing about improvements locally, we are vigilant to the importance of promoting social cohesion, citizenship and cultural awareness throughout the diversity of our social fabric. We support Council’s vision and ongoing commitment towards raising education and accredited attainment standards, which are crucial for improving the quality of people’s lives.
Our ethos and service provision prompts us to be disciplined, purposeful and practical while preparing to meet the existing challenges with tried and tested, yet innovative services. We aim to address the aspirations and differentiated developmental needs throughout our community, while matching skills and pooling from the range of potential in context with current market needs. We have good management and policies in place that is governed by a qualified board of staff that is skilled in i.e. ICT, literacy, numeracy, media and creative craft. We also have a team of volunteers working with us delivering an intervention service with individuals who may be at risk of becoming isolated due to difficult circumstances.
While continuously developing our education programmes towards accreditation, we function daily in partnership with various organisations as their key agency supports them with client referrals. We endeavour to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect where purposeful learning takes place underpinned by an understanding of social responsibility and commitment, necessary for crime prevention, restorative justice, support with mental health issues, social isolation and for increasing employment opportunities. We provide a safe and inclusive space where individuals who are experiencing personal difficulties resulting from loneliness, isolation and depression can meet to share their experiences with others, while gaining skills which will enable them to improve their personal circumstances and employability.
