Battle Scars run a regular virtual group for adults whose loved one self-harms, no matter the age of that person.
The group runs every other Monday and Tuesday evening at 6:30 to 8pm. Groups are capped to 12 (including facilitators). You don’t need to have your video on and you can register under any name you feel comfortable with. “Me and my husband joined battle scars support group this year. From just a few meetings, we have gained a lot of knowledge and also ideas of how to help our son. It was very daunting at first, as we didn’t know what to expect from the group, but we were put at ease from the start. We so look forward to the meetings now, as everyone is in the same position. We really can say what we are having to deal with. There is no judgment, or having to make excuses of why our son self-harms. Even though Covid has stopped the group face to face, doing it on zoom is just as productive. We never end the session feeling down or upset, we actually leave smiling”
