The Recovery College is a training and resource centre which develops and delivers education and tools to support wellbeing and the self-management of mental health difficulties. It works with you either to support you in your recovery or to help you support someone for whom you care.
Its wide range of courses are open to those using West London NHS Trust’s mental health services, staff, carers, families and supporters. They are also available to local authorities and partner organisations.
The college follows an educational model that seeks to give people the tools and skills to become architects of their own recovery, or to support someone else with their recovery journey. The college conveys messages of hope, empowerment, possibility and aspiration. It celebrates diversity and recognises the strengths and successes of its students.
Courses vary from one-off workshops to 10 session programmes. They are co-produced and co-delivered. This means that groups of service users, carers and staff work together to develop the courses. They’re delivered by a practitioner trainer and a peer trainer as the college recognises the expertise of lived experience equally with that of professional training.
