Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987, and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes: childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage. WGN is a free, women-only service providing a holistic response to women and girls who have experienced, or are at risk of, gendered violence. Our overall aim is to promote, preserve, and restore the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls to empower them to make a total and sustainable recovery from the experiences of violence.
Our Advice Hub offers immediate, free and confidential information, advice, advocacy and support for self-identifying women and girls (14 years+) affected by any form of gendered violence and abuse. The Advice Hub is also open to professionals who need support on cases related to gendered violence. When you call us, we will explore your needs with you, give you information about your options and support you to make informed choices. You can call us for advice on a whole range of issues, such as emotional wellbeing and mental health, problems with housing, managing finances and benefits, your personal safety and concerns about your children. We can also link you in with other services such as specialist practical and advocacy support, counselling, group work, refuge accommodation and legal advice/solicitors.
Our opening hours on Wednesday are 10-4pm and 6-9pm.
